How much C8, C10, C12, are in your MCT Oil?

Our Organic MCT Oil is a full-spectrum MCT oil made from organic coconuts. It contains three naturally occurring fatty acids: C8 (caprylic acid), C10 (capric acid), and C12 (lauric acid).

How much C8, C10, and C12 does it contain?

Per 1 tablespoon (15 mL), our Organic MCT Oil contains approximately:

  • C8 (Caprylic Acid): 6,500 mg
  • C10 (Capric Acid): 4,500 mg
  • C12 (Lauric Acid): 1,300 mg

The amounts may vary slightly between batches due to the natural variation of coconut-derived ingredients.

What are C8, C10, and C12?

C8 (Caprylic Acid) and C10 (Capric Acid) are medium-chain fatty acids that are rapidly digested and absorbed by the body. They are commonly used in MCT oils because they can be efficiently converted into ketones.

C12 (Lauric Acid) is a longer medium-chain fatty acid that naturally occurs in coconut oil. We include it as part of our full-spectrum MCT profile.

Why does the amount of each MCT matter?

Different MCTs have different properties. C8 and C10 are generally considered the most ketogenic MCTs because they are more readily converted into ketones than longer-chain fatty acids.

Our full-spectrum formula preserves a broader range of the naturally occurring fatty acids found in coconut-derived MCT oil rather than focusing exclusively on one MCT.

Is the amount always the same?

Not necessarily. Because our MCT Oil is derived from coconuts, the exact fatty-acid profile can naturally vary slightly from batch to batch. Each batch is tested to verify its key composition and quality specifications.

What is the difference between this and Pure C8 MCT Oil?

Our Organic MCT Oil contains a combination of C8, C10, and C12, while Organic Pure C8 MCT Oil is specifically formulated to provide C8 (caprylic acid) predominantly.

If you're looking for a full-spectrum MCT oil, choose Organic MCT Oil. If you specifically want a C8-focused MCT oil, Pure C8 MCT Oil may be the better choice.

The Bottom Line

Our Organic MCT Oil provides approximately 6.5 g of C8, 4.5 g of C10, and 1.3 g of C12 per tablespoon, giving you a full-spectrum blend of coconut-derived MCTs.
