Great question! ðŸ¤
Natural Force Organic Grass-Fed Whey is sourced from milk produced by Jersey cattle, a breed known to have a higher prevalence of the A2 beta-casein gene than many conventional dairy breeds.
However, we do not market or certify Organic Grass-Fed Whey as a "100% A2" product.
Why Don't You Claim the Product Is 100% A2?
The A1 and A2 designations apply specifically to beta-casein, a protein naturally found in milk.
To make a verified "100% A2" claim, dairy herds must undergo genetic testing and milk from A2-producing cows must be segregated throughout the collection and manufacturing process.
Because our milk supply is not managed under a certified A2 program, we do not make a 100% A2 claim.
Does Whey Protein Contain Casein?
Whey protein and casein are different protein fractions naturally found in milk.
During the cheesemaking process used to produce whey protein, most of the casein is removed. However, small amounts of naturally occurring casein may remain in the finished product.
What Does This Mean for Organic Grass-Fed Whey?
Organic Grass-Fed Whey is a whey protein product, not a casein product.
While the milk used to produce it comes from Jersey cattle, the product has not been tested or certified as 100% A2 and should not be considered an A2-certified product.
