What Breed of Cows Does Organic Grass-fed Whey Come From? Is It A2?

Natural Force Organic Grass-fed Whey is sourced exclusively from heritage-breed Jersey cows raised on a California family farm.

Jersey cows are a traditional dairy breed known for producing rich, high-quality milk.

Is Organic Grass-fed Whey Made from A2 Milk?

We do not market or certify our Organic Grass-fed Whey as an A2 or 100% A2 product.

While Jersey cattle may have a higher prevalence of the A2 beta-casein gene compared with some other dairy breeds, the cows supplying our milk are not individually tested for A2 genetics.

Because the milk is not collected and processed under a certified A2 program, we cannot make a verified A2 claim for our finished whey protein.

Does Organic Grass-fed Whey Contain Casein?

Whey and casein are two different types of protein naturally found in milk.

During whey protein production, most of the casein is separated from the whey. However, small amounts of naturally occurring casein may remain in the finished product.

Therefore, Organic Grass-fed Whey should not be considered a casein-free product.

Why Don't You Call It A2 Whey?

To make a verified A2 claim, the milk supply would need to be managed through an appropriate testing and segregation process to ensure that the milk comes from cows producing only A2 beta-casein.

Since our milk supply is not managed under a certified A2 program, we choose not to make an A2 certification or 100% A2 claim.
