Is your Organic Grass-fed Whey 100% grass fed?

Our Organic Grass-Fed Whey is sourced from heritage-breed Jersey cows raised on California family farms, with access to pasture for most of the year.

However, we do not claim that our whey is 100% grass-fed.

Why not?

Our cows can graze pasture for 300+ days per year, but during the milking season, their diet may also be supplemented with additional organic forage, such as silage.

Silage is a fermented feed made from whole forage plants and can include crops such as corn, oats, or sorghum. Because the cows' diet may include these supplemental feeds, we cannot accurately claim that their diet is 100% grass.

The good news is that any crops used as supplemental feed must meet USDA Organic standards, meaning they are grown without prohibited pesticides, herbicides, or GMOs.

What does this mean for our whey?

While we don't make a 100% grass-fed claim, our Organic Grass-Fed Whey is still sourced from pasture-raised Jersey cows with extensive access to pasture, and the whey is USDA Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, and American Humane Certified.
