Is Organic Grass-fed Whey Protein Pasteurized?

Yes. The organic milk used to produce Natural Force Organic Grass-fed Whey is pasteurized using a high-temperature, short-time (HTST) process.

How Is the Milk Pasteurized?

The Grade A milk used to produce our Organic Grass-fed Whey is flash pasteurized at a minimum temperature of 161°F (72°C) for 15 seconds.

HTST pasteurization is a standard process used to reduce potentially harmful microorganisms while maintaining the quality of the milk.

Why Is the Milk Pasteurized?

Pasteurization is an important food-safety step. It helps reduce the risk of harmful bacteria that may be present in raw milk.

Because the milk used to make our whey is pasteurized, Organic Grass-fed Whey should not be considered a raw or unpasteurized whey protein.

Is the Whey Protein "Raw"?

No. Organic Grass-fed Whey is not a raw milk or raw whey product.

Milk used for human consumption in the United States is subject to pasteurization requirements, and our whey is produced using pasteurized milk.

Does Pasteurization Affect the Protein?

Pasteurization is one step in the overall whey manufacturing process. Whey protein also undergoes additional processing, including filtration and drying, before becoming the finished powder.
