While the vast majority of casein is eliminated from whey protein during the manufacturing process, some trace amounts may still remain. 🥛👀
If I'm sensitive to casein, which of your whey protein products would you recommend?
If your sensitivity is of a serious or medical nature, we recommend consulting with your physician before taking whey protein or any other supplement.
However, we source our Organic Whey from small California family farms that raise heritage breed cows that are predominantly of the A2 variety. The casein produced by these cows is different from the A1 casein that is produced by conventional dairy cows and may be less likely to cause a reaction.
(For more information about A1 vs A2 cows, we recommend checking out this article on our blog)
Another option is to explore Whey protein isolate (like that in our Whey Isolate product). Because whey isolate undergoes additional filtration steps, it is less likely to contain casein than a whey protein concentrate (like our regular Organic Whey product).
For more information on the differences between whey protein isolate and concentrates, we recommend checking out this article on our blog.
