Is Organic Grass-fed Whey Made from Raw Milk?

No. Organic Grass-fed Whey is not made from raw milk.

The organic milk used to produce our whey is HTST (high-temperature short-time) pasteurized before the whey is processed into powder.

How Is the Milk Pasteurized?

The milk is flash pasteurized at a minimum temperature of 161°F for 15 seconds.

Pasteurization is an important step in dairy processing because it helps eliminate potentially harmful bacteria while allowing the milk to be safely used to produce whey protein.

Is Organic Grass-fed Whey Minimally Processed?

Yes. Although the milk is pasteurized, the finished product is still minimally processed. The whey is separated from the milk, filtered, concentrated, and dried into a powder.

Organic Grass-fed Whey is made from organic milk sourced from heritage-breed Jersey cows raised on California family farms.

So, while it is not a raw or unpasteurized whey protein, it is made with carefully sourced organic milk and processed to create a high-quality whey protein concentrate.
