Can You Use Organic Pure C8 MCT Oil for High Heat Cooking?

We don't recommend using Organic Pure C8 MCT Oil for high-heat cooking.

Organic Pure C8 MCT Oil is made with 100% C8 (caprylic acid) MCTs and is best used in cold or low-temperature preparations. While MCT oil can be incorporated into many foods and beverages, high heat and prolonged heating can affect the quality of the oil.

How can you use Organic Pure C8 MCT Oil?

Organic Pure C8 MCT Oil is best suited for:

  • Drizzling over cooked foods as a finishing oil
  • Salad dressings
  • Blending into coffee or tea
  • Adding to smoothies or shakes
  • Mixing into foods after cooking

If you're looking for an MCT oil for moderate-temperature cooking, our Organic MCT Oil is a better option. It contains a broader profile of naturally occurring MCTs, including C8, C10, and C12, and is suitable for cooking methods such as sautéing, roasting, and stir-frying.

What about deep frying?

We don't recommend using MCT oil for deep frying. Deep frying involves very high temperatures, and repeated heating and cooling can affect the quality of the oil.

Bottom line: For Organic Pure C8 MCT Oil, stick with cold or low temperatures to help preserve the quality of the oil. For moderate temperature cooking, choose our full-spectrum Organic MCT Oil instead.
