No. Organic Collagen Peptides are not vegan or vegetarian-friendly.
Collagen is an animal-derived protein. Our Organic Collagen Peptides are made from 100% organic, grass-fed bovine hides (cow hides) and contain Type I and III collagen.
Can vegans and vegetarians support collagen production?
Yes. While plant foods don't contain collagen, a balanced diet can provide nutrients your body uses to make collagen naturally. Foods rich in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, berries, peppers, and leafy greens, are good examples.
What about Marine Collagen?
Marine Collagen is also not vegan or vegetarian, since it comes from fish. Our Marine Collagen is made from wild-caught Alaskan cod and contains Type I collagen.
If you avoid beef but eat fish, Marine Collagen may be an option to consider. If you follow a completely plant-based diet, neither bovine nor marine collagen would be suitable.
